You have travelled all the way to Koh Samui, so don’t miss the opportunity to embark on a culinary journey of discovery, at Amaya Food Gallery. Located at Amari Koh Samui in Chaweng, this exceptional restaurant takes its inspiration from the much-loved local street food stalls found across Asia. Offering indoor and outdoor dining areas in a relaxed and casual beach setting, it is decorated in natural tones with splashes of colour and patterns derived from different regions of Asia. It’s the perfect place for discovering and experimenting with Asian flavours, whilst admiring the hues of the turquoise sea gently rolling onto the beach, or watching the sunset whilst enjoying a romantic evening meal.

          

From 6.30 am to 10.30 am, you can enjoy tasty breakfast dishes including local favourites such as freshly made noodle soup or congee (rice porridge, a staple in many parts of Asia) and all the usual western favourites. During the day, live cooking stations will take you on a journey through an array of various typical street food dishes. Laksa is a spicy noodle curry soup, Nasi Goreng, a tasty fried rice dish found all over Indonesia and Malaysia. Staying closer to home, sample Thai favourites such as Tom Yum Goong, warming soup with prawns, chilli, fish sauce, galangal and lemongrass. And don’t forget the ever-popular Pad Thai - stir-fried noodles with egg, tofu, dried shrimp, garlic and shallots, sprinkled with chopped roasted peanuts.

          

As the sun sets on another day, and night calls, Amaya Food Gallery transforms into an energetic Asian food-market style venue, with weekly themes that celebrate the essence of Pan-Asian cuisine. Wander and browse the various booths and cooking stations, choose a selection of Asian dishes and watch the culinary art of Asian preparation, cooking and presentation.

          

Three times a week, Amaya Food Gallery offers special themed evenings with traditional Thai style cultural entertainment. Monday is Seafood Market Night on the beach, an event that every seafood lover will not want to miss! A premium selection of fresh seafood is displayed – Canadian lobster, crab, prawns, squid, white snapper and New Zealand mussels. Select your favourites,Discover a culinary journey at Amaya Food Gallery, Amari Koh Samui pay by weight and choose how you want them cooked, or order from the set menu. For nonseafood eaters, beef, pork loin and chicken are available. Choose from barbeque, spicy seafood, béarnaise or pepper sauce and add sautéed potatoes, vegetables or salad to accompany your selection.
 Relax, sit back and enjoy the feeling of the sand between your toes, and delight in the delectable tastes from the sea, cooked to perfection. Prices for a set menu start from 800 baht net.

          

Wednesdays offer Thai Buffet Night, located by the pool and paired with a traditional Thai dance show. This exclusive all-you-can-eat buffet is a great way to sample the many different types of Thai dishes with their unique flavours and ingredients, all for a great price of 750 baht net, including a welcome drink. There are too many dishes to mention but some examples are; starters - Spicy Seafood Salad (Yum Talay), Wing Bean Salad (Yum Tua Plu), Golden Vegetable Spring Rolls (Por Pia Tod) and Coconut Soup with Chicken (Tom Kha Gai). Main courses - Spicy Blue River Prawn in Curry Sauce, Massaman Curry with Beef, Stir-fried Chicken with Cashew Nut and Fried Fish with Sweet Chili Sauce. Freshly cooked from the Wok Station – a selection of chicken, pork, beef and seafood cooked with fried rice or stir-fried with ginger, oyster sauce or Thai chilli paste and basil. And be sure to leave room for dessert - a selection of seasonal fresh fruit, assorted Thai desserts such as Mango and Sticky Rice and ice cream!

          

Saturday brings a Barbeque Buffet Night on the beach, complete with an awe-inspiring fire show. Choose from sirloin steak, pork loin, baby pork ribs, Asian style marinated chicken, lamb skewers, blue crab, prawn, squid and seabass in banana leaf plus sweet and tasty corn on the cob! There is also a selection of Western and Asian dishes, appetisers,Discover a culinary journey at Amaya Food Gallery, Amari Koh Samui soups and hot dishes such as Pasta Arrabiata, Lamb Stew, Penang Curry with Chicken and accompaniments of Cauliflower Gratin with Parmesan Cheese, Stir-fried Kale and Mushroom with Oyster Sauce, Roasted Baby Potato, Baked Spinach, Singapore Hokkien, Nasi Goreng and Jasmine Steamed Rice. A live cooking station offers Stir-Fried Rice Noodle with Tamarind Sauce, and desserts abound - seasonal fresh fruit, assorted homemade desserts and ice cream. All this for 950 baht net including a glass of house wine.

          

Amaya Food Gallery is open daily from 6:30 am to 11:00 pm, with something for everyone. It’s a great opportunity to taste the many different and varied flavours of Asia.

          

Adjacent to Amaya Food Gallery is Amaya Bar, a tranquil beachfront bar where guests can relax overlooking the beach or pool with a refreshing beverage in hand. The bar features freshly squeezed juices, classic cocktails and Amaya Bar signatures inspired by the island’s local ingredients, featuring names such as Jasmine,Discover a culinary journey at Amaya Food Gallery, Amari Koh Samui My Darling - Darjeelinginfused gin with fresh lemon, house jasmine syrup and a touch of egg. Or spice things up with Hot Lips - lemon-infused tequila, strawberries, house jasmine syrup, and fresh Thai bird chilli. A good selection of cold beers and wines are available to enjoy here or on the sun loungers by the pool or on the beach. Amaya Bar is open daily from 10:00 am to 11:00 pm.

          

The casual and contemporary Amaya Café is located street-side and offers indoor and outdoor seating. It’s the perfect place to escape the heat of the day and hang out with a fresh coffee, healthy smoothie, savoury pastry, sandwich or something sweet. Try the Yuzu Bar, made from the Chinese yuzu fruit or opt for the Samui Sweet and Sour Panna Cotta, local Samui chocolates or choose from the array of scrumptious cakes on offer. Amaya Café is open every day from 11:00 am until 10:00 pm.
