It’s Revolutionary!

Beach Republic is everything an ocean club should be – plus a whole lot more, besides.

56It just keeps getting better and better. Beach Republic Ocean Club, Spa and Restaurant has been the front-runner in so many regards for the last few years. And their latest project has seen the addition of more deluxe rooms and penthouse suites. They’ve also doubled their beach frontage, added another seaside swimming pool, built a new bar and events area, and opened a boutique, a cheese and wine store, a private cheese and wine tasting room, added their own in-house bakery and re-launched their famous ‘Sunday Brunch’.

Beach Republic’s reputation has been built on solid foundations of providing precisely what holidaymakers and expats want. Their rooms, suites and pool-villas allow total privacy and yet are just seconds from the vibrant ocean club and beach. They’ve held regular events with internationally known DJ’s, fashion shows, themed dinners and weddings. And the restaurant is perennially popular with all day and night tapas and an extensive à la carte menu.

Over in the Beach Republic Asian Fusion Spa, the therapies bring together traditional Asian and Western styles with an inventive approach to healing and relaxation techniques. Focusing on the body’s ‘sen’ or meridian lines and the flow of ‘chi’ they utilize ancient practices such as Indian Ayurvedic treatments, Japanese reiki, Chinese reflexology and traditional Thai massages that use hot herbal compresses.

Resident Manager, Julie Glover, proudly explains all about what’s been dubbed ‘Beach Club 2’ but is really an extension of what was there. “There’re several reasons we developed the area. For a start, we’ve recently opened 30 new rooms and suites and will have many more in-house guests than ever before who need space to chill out. The new pool and bar area gives us twice the capacity we had and it means we can have events going on that won’t interfere with the normal running of the restaurant and main bar. We’ve installed state of the art sound systems that have independent controls for the different areas and a new upper level area that overlooks the whole club, pools and beach area. It can be used as a chill-out spot, a place to show movies or even a private dining area.”

Executive Chef, Martin Selby, expanded upon what the additional areas are going to be. “We’ve also built a new bakery and have a qualified baker on board from the UK. Not only do we make all our own breads, cakes and pastries, we also supply a number of top-class restaurants and resorts around us. Opposite that we’re about to open a cheese and wine shop. It will stock wines and cheeses that are different from the ones we have in the restaurant and we’ll sell them at retail prices. Guests and visitors can browse around, pick out what they like and then pull up some sun-loungers and enjoy them in the sun.”

Next to the Ocean Club is a boutique store that sells beach and leisure wear and branded Beach Republic clothing. And just around the corner there’s an air-conditioned private room that can be used for food and wine tastings and private dinners for up to a dozen people. Back in the restaurant Martin explained for the format of the re-launched ‘Sunday Brunch’. “Over the last year or so it’s proved to be massively popular with holidaymakers and expats who want to spend a Sunday afternoon relaxing with great food, laid-back music and very comfortable surroundings. And to meet demand I’ve introduced lots of new service stations and high-quality produce. We run the set-price brunch from midday until 4:00 pm and our guests can take their time and enjoy everything that we have to offer.”

That would be some achievement as the spread is enormous. There’re 12 stations in and around the restaurant and just as many chefs creating the dishes. And with everything from ‘cold cuts’ including Italian mortadella, Serrano ham, Easter ham, French and English cheeses and a host of fresh breads, through to a ‘foie gras station’ offering foie gras terrine, foie gras crème brûlée, Wagyu beef and foie gras satay and pan-seared Hokkaido scallops with foie gras, there’s just about every conceivable dish to tempt you. And to cap it all off, if you can manage, there’s also a desserts section with chocolate mousse, blueberry cheesecake, banoffee pie, chocolate brownies, American pancakes, crème brûlée, crepes, ice cream and fresh fruits.

There’re always promotions every week on food, wine, beers and cocktails and also in the spa. And further discounts can be made with their Privilege Cards which you can pick up when you are there. They also have a free pick-up service from your hotel or residence when you book a table for lunch or dinner or a treatment in the spa. Beach Republic is everything an Ocean Club should be and more. And long may it continue to lead the way.
